Unveiling Parallel Narratives
In April 2023, another iteration of the Empathy Supper 2 event unfolded, this time within the local context of Gang Apandi, situated behind the prominent Braga street in Bandung. The collaboration involved Farida from Braga Heritage Bandung and members from the Rakarsa Foundation. Their guidance facilitated our engagement with the local community, offering valuable insights into the history and the stark juxtaposition between the bustling tourist destination of Braga Street and the surrounding neighborhood.
Employing similar artistic methodologies as employed in Berlin, this event featured participatory strategies. However, this time, the local group came together to prepare a shared meal of German "Spätzle," underscoring the cross-cultural exchange that transpired during this enlightening experience.

Aya: "Grandma, if you want to record, don't feel insecure, the important thing is to be cocky and confident. If the security guard of the studio asks where you're going?.
Just say you want to do a recording, and if he doesn't believe you just say "Fuck you!"

Mr. Vincent is a person who has a master's degree but still wants to hang out with us. We thought “Oh, that means there are people like that who are more educated and more than us, but there's no distance between us, just mingle.

A Multi-sensory Exhibition
In the pursuit of understanding how individual origins and privileges influence collaborative artistic processes, our research embarked on a creative journey that transcended traditional boundaries. By blending qualitative research methodologies, sonic experimentation, and innovative exhibition techniques, we sought to convey the complexities of these themes in a manner that resonated deeply with audiences. This part of the artistic project presents a snapshot of our project's unique approach, showcasing how music, visuals, and technology converged to create a thought-provoking multisensory experience.

To complement the auditory experience, we embarked on a visual exploration that translated the nuances of our research findings into a series of captivating posters. Each poster visually represented a different aspect of the collaborative artistic process, employing symbolism, color, and typography to convey emotions and narratives that emerged from our interviews and discussions.
As part of our data collection, in-depth interviews and discussions were recorded, capturing the authentic voices of collaborators, artists, and individuals with diverse backgrounds and privileges. These raw audio materials were meticulously curated and transformed into a collection of experimental sounds, forming the sonic backbone of our project.

Exhibition
Our project reached its apex in an art gallery in Bandung, Indonesia, where we hosted an interactive exhibition. The posters, meticulously designed to echo the depth of our sonic narratives, adorned the gallery apaces. Visitors were invited to engage with the exhibition in a novel way, utilizing an app called PhonoPaper. This app transformed the visual elements of our posters into audible sounds, allowing visitors to listen to the collection of experimental sounds while viewing the corresponding visual representation.
The goal of the exhibition was to invite visitors to engage with the themes of origin and privilege in a profound and novel manner. By blending the auditory and visual dimensions, we aimed to create a holistic experience that resonated emotionally, intellectually, and introspectively. Visitors were encouraged to navigate through the gallery, immersing themselves in a multisensory exploration of collaborative art, origin, privilege, and their interconnectedness.
